Tackle Performance Equipment

Power Disc System

Price range: £650.00 through £1,600.00

The Power Disc System is part of the GSI Performance Technical Training Range and can be used in isolation or as part of the full system of products. This piece of equipment has been specifically designed to isolate a key area in the development of accurate body height, hip-sink, and leg-drive. It can also be used in drills relating to dynamic feet movement into the breakdown, and level one and two tackle entry points.

The Power Disc is specifically designed with a circular base and a four coloured grip bar configuration. What the player will find when using the Power Disc is, if they transfer weight down into the apparatus it will not move – the player must work on sinking hips and driving through the disc and along the ground.

The collision pad attachment makes a great addition to the Power Disc Maxi, allowing the player to also work on initial accurate shoulder connection and leg-drive, adding an extra dynamic to training collision and contact body height and level change.

Choose from options below – Power Disc Mini, Maxi, Maxi + Collision Pad Attachment or just the Collison Pad Attachment (please note this only attaches to the Maxi Disc).

KEY COACHING POINTS
  • Coach must explain to the player the correct technique in creating dynamic movement with the apparatus, movement into coloured gate and dropping body height, accurate hand grips on bar, hip sink and leg drive, head up and spine in line looking up.
  • Coach can instruct player to attack different colours in a sequence. The player must come off the apparatus and back into the next coloured gate, creating an excellent training effect of re-shape and dynamic feet movement into low driving position.
  • Coach can decide how many dynamic driving steps you want from player i.e. three steps then off and into next coloured gate… two dynamic steps etc.
  • Adding the collision pad attachment adds a different dynamic to the Power Disc Maxi, allowing the player to have two entry points into the contact point with accurate left or right shoulder connection.
  • The Power Disc is an excellent addition for any breakdown circuit as you can use the apparatus as a control method, always working on low body height in a controlled environment before returning to other GSI Performance products within the system.
